i got a new car (and love it, in case you haven’t heard)

hey there friends. i recently acquired (aka shelled out a ridiculous amount of cash for) a new car. cutting to the chase, it’s a 2015 honda fit and i absolutely LOVE it.  my top 3 factors in making my decision for what car to buy were:

  1. size (for parking, i live in a city after all
  2. cost (still a college student at heart)
  3. ability to fit as many crash pads as possible factoring in 1) and 2), above.

I boulder, and when i was looking at cars, fitting pads dominated a large portion of my decision spreadsheet (including pad dimensional measurements for standard and mondo organic pads and metolius bi fold pads, trunk spaces of all the cars i was considering with seats up and down by dimension and by volume… if anyone wants to see it, let me know). after considering the fit, the vw golf, ford focus, subaru impreza etc etc, the fit won by a mile and i’m still thrilled 3 months in.

discovery of today is that with the 2/3rd back seat down you could comfortably fit 3 people and 2 mondo organic pads and gear (in the trunk not on laps). my car has been officially nominated as the bouldering vehicle of choice over my climbing partners’ honda insight and toyota corolla. Win!

1 mondo + 1 person in the trunk (2 mondo organics and 3 people seated would also work)

in case you need more convincing Fits are the best for gear stuffing, i also used Steph Davis’s post on her fit and two posts from a test drive session honda had with 4 outdoors bloggers including Modern Hiker and The Morning Fresh. enough blubbering on my car, go forth and adventure with it!
